Bastanis Showroom Author: Adam Patacchiola here are the pictures and description for my bastanis. I constructed the baffles out of 1 1/4" oak plywood. This presented several problems because the plans call for 1" thick wood. I used a router with a circular template attachment to cut the holes and bevel. The tweeter horn left a 1/4" gap in the back which I filled in with a 1/4" thick piece of wood. The front of the baffles were glued to the bases. On one of them the glue bond broke when I hammered the feet in the bottom so I had to use shelving brackets to stabilize as you can see. I coated the baffles with clear lacquer and used black spray paint for the black parts. I have left room to add another wideband so I can upgrade to atlas at a later date. I am running a 2A3 power amp with the yaqin ms-12b phono preamp with mullard tubes. I have a Technics SL110 deck with a Trans-Fi Terminator tonearm. I'm using a Tannoy TS-12 subwoofer. I have about 400 hours on the speakers and they keep getting better and better! Adam Patacchiola |
